Collography is a printmaking process in which materials are adhered to a rigid substrate to make a “plate.” This plate is then inked and pressed onto paper, either with hand tools or a printing press. What I enjoy about this particular process is that the plate is reusable, and I can play with how the application of color changes the outcome of the print and the resulting design. As in my painting, my plates incorporate found objects that appeal to me because of their form and texture.
